Sunset Alliance Bands -----
Back to top Stereotyperider-----
A young band who is loved and admired by some of the most influential hardcore bands around, IS a great band. And if that young band also tours with those trend setters, then it would have to be true to say that 'said' band is now setting the new trend. Stereotyperider is that band, and if you really are 'hip', you will need to get on and off the bandwagon before everyone else does. You can do that by purchasing Stereotyperider 'Fairweatherfan', their first release. This EP is what kicked off the existence of Sunset Alliance Records and is chalked full of some of the most inventive songs of turmoil you can find. All 7 of these tracks ride a fence of melody and aggression while finding original territory. Buy this if you're fans of...the Suicide Machines, Big Wig, Ensign, International Noise Conspiracy, etc...because those are some of the bands who Stereotyperider has toured with and they are telling you to. "I don`t think too many bands from the late 90`s or the first few years of the new millennium have been memorable or even good for that matter. But [Stereotyperider] is amazing! And should be considered legendary. Hopefully people will be listening to it 10 or 20 years down the road. I hate to make comparisons because they sound nothing like any of the bands I`m about to list. I just think people who like these bands will love this: Sonic Youth, Seaweed, Husker Du.' - Jason Navarro (The Suicide Machines) -Find the new Stereotyperider record on Suburban Home. It's just as good as 'Fairweatherfan' and it's causing waves. Look for Stereotyperider...they're constantly on tour and they may be coming to you soon.

Back to top The Letter Press -----
The
Letter Press features members of Before Braille(Rajiv Patel), Noah Blake(Jeremy
Drysdale) and Foreign Holiday(Dustin Carson). Usually when you hear of some
kind of allstar 3-piece line-up of members from a particular city, a person
might think they have guitar, bass, drums...but what's unique about The
Letter Press is what they don't have. They don't have guitars, but instead
they play their basses like a dual guitar tapestry. Each bass line weaving
in and out of the other, connected by precise percussion. The bass playing
stays interesting, but allows for warm song structures and strong melodies.
Already being compared to Pinback, The Letter Press is more interested in
what they're not compared to, finding a nice little niche of their own within
the grand faction of independent artists. A new approach with great musicianship,
tight songcraft, and challenging instrumentation. Now at work preparing
for a full length release in the future, The Letter Press will offer it's
first 7 song release--"Input/Output"--on Feb 24th to hold you
over until then. The first 250 copies will have special edition wooden sleeves,
made of maple. Check their website for current news and updates on touring
plans.
