Back to top   Rajiv Patel -----
Rajiv is know for his guitar playing with Before Braille. His solo venture, much like The Retaliation For What They Have Done To Us is original, experimental ideas by mixing blends of traditional Middle Eastern music with modern indie-rock stylings. "Obey the Cattle" shows Rajiv's softer side through acoustic guitar, samples, guitar loops, mandolin, organ, harmonica, vibraslap, bongos, & many different percussive instruments. Causing a stir regionally during his "one-man-live" shows (one part creative genious, one part street performer) by his unanticipatable antics, this record has been highly anticipated and is receiving much praise. It's been said amongst the local artist community that Obey the Cattle is one of Arizona's best releases in the past 5 years. The record, as you can see in the credits above, has 10 tracks and is out now and can be purchased online, hassle free, through Stinkweeds. Rajiv can be reached in Peru by email here: rajivpatel@myldsmail.net

Back to top   Redfield -----

Redfield is one of the founding fathers of Sunset Alliance. They are also one of the cornerstones of the amazing hardcore/rock scene in Phoenix. 'Born To Rock' is to Redfield as 'Born To Run' is to Springsteen. This full length is full of turbulent rock movements and emotive vocals that make you mad enough to smash a hole through a wall, but sensitive enough to make it a new door. Redfield was rated the top 15 "unsigned" bands in the country by Rolling Stone, and this record is why. This record is not metal, it is not hardcore, it is not punk, and it is not screamo, but it feeds off the best aspect of each of those genres and subgenres. "Lost Sight", Redfield's second Sunset Alliance release is more of a refined Redfield. Lost Sight shows the growth in songwriting between now and 'Born To Rock'. The recording is quite raw, but the record went through it's pressing quite quickly. Only a limited number of copies remain. Redfield is now on Grave 9 Records (gravenine.com) and being hunted down by a number of major labels.

The middle eastern youth gone wild...ideas vs. protocol...trans add panic...ode if it weren't for cowboy dan...losing celing...people move from city to city...bipolar bear. It has been said that The Retaliation For What They Have Done To Us is a live recording of a mostly improvisational music collaboration by the members of Before Braille. We will never confirm, nor deny. It is known that the few live performances that took place were comprised of Rajiv Patel, Kelly Reed, Brandon Smith and David Jensen...performed with a film backdrop created by the 4 boys. Listen to the songs on our music page or on Itunes. Recordings by Bob Hoag & Flying Blanket. Artwork & sketches by jason farrell.

Back to top   ShotStar-----

Prescott, Arizona is about 100 miles north of Phoenix and became the unlikely meeting ground of what would someday be known as Shotstar. It was on the streets of this small town that Andrew Taillole (Lead Vocals, Guitar) and Tobin Watkinson (Bass Guitar) would decide to drastically alter their lives in search of their life long dream...living uncomfortable in a van while driving the country playing their music. They then recruited Eric Hoskin on guitar and Daniel Boutin on the drums to finish off the line up and relocated to Tucson, Arizona where they have played with internationally touring acts such as Superdrag, The Juliana Theory, Ozma, and Piebald as well as making a name for themselves playing shows all over country. It is difficult to describe the type of rock that Shotstar bring to the table. There is an interesting blend of classic rock, early NYC punk, and even eighties pop that make the album feel like some sort of retro-modern shot in the arm. There is plenty of energy and good times swirling around these tracks. Shotstar may provide the listener a pop pleasure, but they are not guilty of the pop structure - Interesting nooks and crannies lie throughout their gem of an album,"What the Hell Is Rock'n'Roll?", which keeps you guessing as much as it answers the question. Unfortunately, just as things seems to be looking bright...as with many great bands...Shotstar parted ways indefinitely. -but don't fret, each member is still after their dream in different directions.
We at sunset alliance are pleased to have done this joint release with Jon Looby and Downfall Records(www.downfallrec.com)

Back to top   Signedso -----

The story so far... when signsedso first formed, the band set out to achieve the impossible: render a homegrown music culture, from scratch, to empower the youth of a small midwestern town. from their roots in bloomington, il; the trio soon realized their dream to carry the rock n' roll struggle through the depths of the nation. since, they've appeared with renowned acts such as snapcase, attention, the deadlines, gogogo airheart, stereotyperider, fivespeed, her flyaway manner, and more.
with three self released eps, several diy tours, a brief stint in phoenix az, and now their first full length album, (recorded by matt van leuven @ eight houses in denver colorado, and released on phoenix arizona's sunset alliance records) signsedso is back in bloomington where they relentlessly strive to unite the passionate. with the release of this record, this captivating powerhouse will again invade backyards and watering holes in cities both foreign and familiar.
After relocation, a subsequent move "back home," and a regrouping of body and mind, signsedso is now preparing to introduce all parts of the U.S. to the Authentic Rock Movement. signsedso is committed to inspiring the masses, preaching their "Rock for Rock's sake" credo. With the release of their first full-length effort, captivate is just what they do. Recorded in a sleepless week at Eight Houses Studio in Denver, the self-titled album is laden with the hope and vehemence of a young punk band, yet characterized by the tone and calculation of a veteran rock wonder. This must-have is a balanced battle between sensitive articulation and unadulterated intensity. A recipe of fervent emotion with a splash of sounds-good feeling, the album embodies the forgotten spirit of Rock 'n Roll. An honest work; a demonstration in uncompromising passion.
Their story told, they have but one request of you; encourage your local progression and spread the good word; support the authentic rock movement.
