As our name suggests, we are an alliance of artists, songwriters, and friends. Since our first release in 1999, Steve Lefever, David Jensen and allies (who, for the most part, comprised Stereotyperider, Corrupt Citizen, Redfield and Fivespeed) have ventured out with an honest desire to create and share the music we love. Sunset Alliance is in no way a public pat on the back or a profit-making machine. We are bands who rely on personal motivation to accomplish our goals of producing and distributing our own creations. As with many others, we choose to translate the DIY objectives into action. We contribute to music by going beyond our basements and garages to create public outlets for ourselves. We believe that the most genuine thing one can do in music is strengthen one's community by helping to widen artistic perspectives and support independent ideals of others. We retain our goal to provide a productive vehicle for musicians who work to better themselves and the music they tirelessly create in projects such as the local compilation "Not One Light Red: A Modified Document," which features the work of some of Phoenix's most promising bands and artists--collaborated with the help of Scott Tennent(singer/songwriter and head of This Argonaut Records)--which supports and honors the catalysing venue, Modified Arts where Phoenix's premier bands and artist perform. A similar project was released in July 2002, which featured various respected artists from the Phoenix area as well as our around the world. We are extremely motivated to help promote and establish bands outside the realm of the corporate rock world. We invite you to send us your your ideas, your demos, and your opinions for our response. We do not reject well-intended work. Thank you for visiting. Feel free to do so often.
